Computes the source effective savings rate, (contracted cost - effective cost) / contracted cost, as the raw effective_discount_ratio. ServiceProviderName uses the v1.0 producer for marketplace sellers and the normalized provider for direct services. Services with under $0.01 of contracted cost are excluded, because in this sample their ratios explode (Azure Data Factory has $0.0000000006 contracted, giving about -50,000×). AWS effective costs here are rounded to whole dollars, so small negative rates are sample noise.

Column adaptations (1)
  • ServiceProviderName → publisher_name / provider_name: Use publisher_name when it differs from invoice_issuer_name (the sample marketplace sellers); otherwise normalize the direct provider to provider_name. PublisherName identifies the producer in v1.0, preserving ServiceProviderName seller semantics for this sample.
